About Us

I, C. Marvin Pate, am an educator and pastor, having authored and co-authored twenty plus books on biblically related topics from an evangelical Christian perspective.  I have been interviewed scores of times for radio and television programs reaching audiences in the millions. Moreover, I have spoken at numerous biblical conferences across the country. My wife of thirty-four years, Sherry, is also an educator, pastor’s wife,  and best-selling author, co-authoring two books with me.

As an educator, I am the Chairperson of the Department of Christian Theology at Ouachita Baptist University (Arkadelphia, Arkansas) and also hold the endowed chair of Elma Cobb Professor of Christian Theology at OBU.

As a minister, we have served some ten pastorates over the last thirty four years in fulltime, bi-vocational, and interim capacities. God has blessed our service to the church.

Thus I have had “one foot” in the classroom with the other in church ministry for the entirety of my academic career. Such a calling has been about the business of communicating practical principles from Scripture that empower others to lead transformed lives for Christ and his kingdom. Hence our trademark, “Biblical teaching for transformed living.” To learn more about Sherry and me, please look behind the panels below.
